Data Based Decision Making

As learning designers, we are acutely aware of the importance of a good decision-making process. In the realm of decision making, we came across two broad pathways to arrive at a decision. We like to call them ‘the intuitive path’ and ‘the evidence-based path’. As organizations deal with increasingly complex problems, it has been observed by experts that intuitive decision making is a disadvantage ( read about it here).

However, the challenge of how to draw effective inferences from the analysis churned out by the DSS and present it in a manner where decision making process is simplified remains one of the biggest challenges organisations are facing.

Human beings are naturally inclined to making intuitive decisions. This makes evidence-based( alternatively called data-based) decision making an acquired skill. With the Data Based Decision Making program, learners will be enabled to develop an analytical thought process.

This is why is a dedicated program required for data analysis, inferring, presentation and decision making  is important!

How we go about it

Learning must be a fun and enriching experience! The Data Based Decision Making program has been designed to be an interactive workshop. We have ensured that technical jargons are kept to a minimal and the nature of the program remains non-technical. So, the basics of data analytics will be covered without delving deep into the theory of data analytics and statistics.

The learner’s time in this program will be utilized to explore interesting case studies and have deep discussions. As we focus on real time applications of learning, the learners will be able to do the following at the end of the program:

• Understand, learn and practice the analytical thought process required to make data based decisions
• Develop the ability to make well-reasoned decisions based on informed analysis of available data
• Develop ability to communicate and present their business case effectively using data
